Polish scientists analysed the results of RT-PCR from 25,395 patients with COVID-19. The research was aimed to confirm the specificity and reliability of the RT-PCR method for the positive detection of SARS-CoV-2. Additionally, whole genome sequencing of the virus isolated from 923 patients with COVID-19 was performed to determine the frequency of occurrence of different SARS-CoV-2 variants between 2020 and 2022 in Podlaskie Voivodeship in Poland.
