Understanding protection from SARS-CoV-2 using metabolomics

Metabolomic studies have revealed that increased levels of monolaurin (a component of coconut oil) protect against SARS-CoV-2 infections. On the other hand, elevated cholesterol was associated with an increased risk of infection. Research published in Scientific Reports.
